About

I’m Christine Cranston, founder of the Expertise Communications Studio.

Every project begins with a conversation — listening first, so what your experts know ends up in language customers can act on.

Christine Cranston, copywriter and content strategist

I’m a creative, versatile person with lots of experience and a strong sense of humor. Thanks to decades of work in corporate environments, I know how to use marketing and communication to achieve business goals — increasing revenue, building brand loyalty, inspiring change, engaging employees, and streamlining communication.

Professionally, I’ve worked in tech companies such as SAP Concur, Microsoft, Amazon, General Assembly, and Boeing. I’ve been a writer and program manager in every role I’ve had, across software, aviation, environment, IT security, construction, real estate, engineering, and creative services.

I partner with you to develop communications that drive your business forward — without the big-agency price tag. I’ll be the person interviewing your experts. You’ll work directly with me. With my background, I can write for every audience you have, from technical docs to promotional campaigns, so you don’t need multiple freelancers. My intention is to free you to focus on running your business.

About me at home…

I’m very fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful regions of the United States, where there’s water everywhere — saltwater, lakes, and the rain that keeps the gardens green. I live with my beloved orange mutt, Toby, and two black cats. My 1929 house is surrounded by a garden oasis I’ve created, growing vegetables, fruits, and flowers.

I’m truly a tree hugger that loves to be out in nature as much as possible. I’m an avid gardener, exerciser, and traveler, and I enjoy sailing, biking, and reading fiction. I am originally from the state of Maryland on the East Coast.

Orange and white flowers in a garden

I love gardening.

Everyone needs beauty, places to play and pray, where nature heals and strengthens our body and spirit. I revel in color, scent, shapes, movement, and wildlife.

It’s been said that people who are gardeners at heart possess some important virtues. They are a unique blend of patience, vision, creativity, wisdom and kindness. I am comfortable claiming these qualities after decades of being chiseled by life experience.

Let’s have a conversation.
